The January meeting was held on 30th of January . It was chaired by our President, Joie Ng and minutes were recorded by our Secretary Rebecca Yates. Items of discussion included;
💳 Motion passed to order a bank card linked to TA’s (Treasurers) account to support financial operations.
🎟️ Committee members granted free memberships.
🎓 Reminder issued to attend the First Year Event on 23 February (11:30am), sponsored and strongly encouraged for support.
💰 Socials update confirmed the Law Ball venue contract has been signed with the first deposit paid.
🍸 Socials planning discussed including:
Two-stop Wine Tour format (City + Campus) confirmed
Introduction of optional pre-purchased drink tokens (no cost to MSLS)
Venue polling finalised for second stop (“Collector of Souls” selected)
Budget breakdown for Wine Tour including bus deposit, drink tokens, and venue pre-authorisation buffer
🏆 Motion passed approving $2,500 expenditure for Socials Wine Tour event (14/14).
⚖️ Competitions update: judges being secured and questions currently in development.
📖 First Year Guide successfully published on Law O’Day (17 January).
👕 Merchandise updates:
Same apparel supplier retained
Quarter-zip embroidery quoted at $42 per unit
Sample planned for March, with full order targeted for April (ahead of Walk for Justice).
