Competitions Competitions are an integral part of the Law student community at Murdoch University. The Murdoch Student Law Society hosts a number of law-orientated competitions aimed at providing you with the practical skills necessary to succeed in a legal career. Whether it is interviewing a client, controlling a court room, or negotiating a settlement, there is a competition that will suit you and your future goals.
2010 sees the return of all your old favourites, and also the introduction of a new competition, the Mallesons Stephen Jaques Junior Client Interview Competition. This year will also see an overhaul of all competition rules and especially the structure of the competitions. All competitions now have preliminary rounds, ensuring that all competitor's participate in at least two rounds to ensure fairness and quality in each competition. If you haven't competed in an MSLS competition before, this is the year to get involved! MSLS competitions are a great way to meet people and to get a hands-on feel for what working in the legal profession is all about. Participating in competitions can earn you academic credit, and it also looks great on your CV! If this is not incentive enough, the winners of all ALSA equivalent competitions will be sent to Adelaide in July to compete at the national championships! So give it a go!
